Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to serve as the welding quality authority across projects. You will write and review welding quality programs, supervise CWIs and inspectors, and approve welder qualifications, WPS and PQR packages.

Role requires AWS SCWI or a CWI with 8+ years of leadership in welding inspection, strong code knowledge (D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, API 1104), and the ability to liaise with engineers, fabricators, and building officials.

Qualifications

• AWS SCWI or CWI with 8+ years in welding inspection incl supervision.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, API 1104.
• NDt Level II or III in at least one method preferred.
• Experience writing welding quality programs for structural, industrial, or pipeline work.
• Credible with engineers, fabricators, and building officials; writes clear procedures.

Responsibilities

• Writes, reviews, and approves welding quality plans, inspection procedures, and NDT procedures.
• Supervises CWIs and Welding Inspectors across projects.
• Reviews reports and calibrates their calls.
• Approves WPS, PQR, and welder qualification packages.
• Witnesses or directs procedure qualification testing.
• Audits fabricators and erectors' welding quality systems.
• Qualifies NDT subcontractors.
• Resolves disputed indications with engineers of record.
• Represents the company in welding quality reviews.
