Job summary

Energy Steel & Supply Co. seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in design, drafting, and welding coordination for Code project activities. The role requires deep knowledge of welding procedures, WQRs, and relevant ASME/AWS codes, with the ability to read complex customer drawings and develop shop drawings.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of engineering management experience in a nuclear/defense or similar environment, U.S. citizenship, and PE eligibility.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required by Federal Contract
• BSME or BSWE with 10+ years welding engineering experience in commercial nuclear/defense/manufacturing environment
• Ability to supervise technical personnel and manage multiple projects
• PE registration or ability to obtain registration
• Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Sections III, VIII and IX and AWS Structural Welding Codes desired
• Ability to read/interpet engineering drawings, standards, and specs
• Up to 10% travel annually
• Detail oriented, ethical and strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities for engineering and project coordination as defined in QA manuals
• Design activities, coordination, planning and drawing records oversight
• Coordinate with QA on project quality matters
• Prepare and release weld/fab drawings and related documentation
• Supervise welding engineers, WQRs, WPS/PQR processes
• Assist Sales with technical welding and fabrication presentations
• Manage fabrication and welding activities with internal and subcontracted teams
• Develop shop drawings and fabrication documentation
