Job summary

Crafted Staff is seeking an experienced Welder to perform manual and automatic welding on aerospace components during the second shift. The ideal candidate will have strong GTAW/TIG skills, orbital welding setup experience, and hands-on work with aerospace alloys.

The role requires interpreting welding procedures, drawings, and quality requirements; preparing and inspecting components; troubleshooting equipment; and maintaining qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years welding or related experience or proven ability to perform duties.
• Current AWS D17.1 GTAW/TIG certification in specified groups with 1G or equivalent.
• Experience setting up, programming, and operating orbital GTAW equipment.
• Experience welding aerospace alloys (e.g., Haynes 188, Hastelloy X, Inconel 718).
• Ability to read weld procedures, blueprints, and quality requirements.
• Eye exam, FAA drug screening, and weld test requirements.
• Onsite work in Glendale, AZ; 2nd shift 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per instructions.
• Program and operate orbital GTAW equipment.
• Position fixtures and parts using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Adjust welding processes to meet quality standards.
• Read drawings and weld symbols and verify quality.
• Perform pre-weld prep and post-weld inspections.
• Maintain welding qualifications and certifications.
• Collaborate with Engineering to resolve welding issues and develop processes.
• Train and guide less experienced welders and enforce safety.
