Included Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the next generation of the member experience on the web. This front-end-first full-stack role emphasizes accessible, high-performance interfaces while contributing to backend services and APIs where needed.

You will shape frontend architecture, own projects end to end, and collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Clinical teams to transform complex healthcare workflows into simple user experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications.
• Deep hands-on frontend expertise with JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, component design, browser behavior, performance, accessibility, and testing.
• Experience building responsive, accessible, and reliable user experiences that serve real customer or member needs.
• Full-stack experience and ability to contribute to APIs, backend services, data flows, and service integrations.
• Experience making technical decisions within ambiguous problem spaces and driving projects from concept through production.
• Strong product instincts and partnering effectively with Product and Design.
• Clear communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical partners.
• A pragmatic, collaborative approach: ownership, feedback, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve high-quality member-facing web experiences using modern frontend technologies, with focus on usability, accessibility, performance, and reliability.
• Own meaningful projects end to end: clarify problems, shape approach, collaborate with Product and Design, ship iteratively, measure outcomes.
• Contribute across the full stack, including frontend apps, APIs, backend services, data flows, and integrations.
• Define frontend architecture, including architecture patterns, state management, component reuse, testing strategy, observability, and performance practices.
• Make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, maintainability, and user impact.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Clinical, and other teams to translate healthcare workflows into intuitive experiences.
• Improve developer experience with tooling, documentation, testing, workflows, and standards.
• Adopt AI-assisted coding practices while maintaining code quality, security, and judgment.
• Participate in design reviews, planning, code reviews, incident follow-ups, and reliability improvements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of feedback, learning, and ownership.
