Job summary

WSP is seeking a Web Developer (Mid to Senior) to join our Visual Studios Interactive team. This remote, full‑time role combines design with programming to deliver high‑impact interactive services and solutions.

You will lead the full lifecycle of web apps, translate wireframes into working code, and collaborate across GIS and cloud‑first initiatives to create engaging experiences on mobile and desktop.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience directly related to web development.
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design principles.
• Strong experience supporting and maintaining production web applications.
• Hands-on experience interfacing programmatically with APIs such as Google Maps.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript and JSON.
• Ability to write clear documentation and commented code.
• Experience mentoring and conducting code reviews; strong debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web applications from UI/UX designs.
• Translate designs into performant, scalable apps.
• Optimize for performance, responsiveness, and cross‑browser compatibility.
• Develop apps that work across platforms and browsers.
• Integrate GIS using appropriate APIs/SDKs.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, leads, managers, and clients.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and guidance.
• Develop unit tests and perform testing.
• Address OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and security concerns.
• Debug, support, and maintain applications you and others build.
