Job summary

Informa’s Aviation group, Aviation Week Network, seeks a Senior Web Developer to build robust web apps using React and Node.js. This role can be based in Portland, OR or New York, NY and follows a hybrid model with in-person collaboration several days per week.

You’ll design scalable UI, integrate RESTful services, and mentor junior developers while contributing to fast-paced Agile projects. Strong JS, cloud, and DevOps experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science preferred (will consider experience in lieu of degree).
• 8+ years of software development experience focused on React and Node.js.
• Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications.
• JS, HTML5, CSS3 and modern front-end frameworks knowledge.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and frontend-backend integration.
• Strong Git and Agile development experience.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) knowledge.
• Microservices architecture experience.
• Python programming proficiency.
• PHP development experience.

Responsibilities

Informa's Aviation group, Aviation Week Network, is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer with extensive experience and proficiency in React and Node.js.

Role Accountability and Duties

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks, specifically React and Node.js
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high‑quality software solutions
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code following industry best practices
• Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences
• Implement and maintain API integrations with third‑party services and internal systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the end users
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies and incorporate them into your work as appropriate.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA, preferably in Computer Science or other technical, analysis, or mathematics subject area (will consider experience in lieu of a degree for highly qualified applicants) preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on React and Node.js
• Proven experience building and maintaining large‑scale web applications
• In‑depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front‑end frameworks
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating front‑end interfaces with backend services
• Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git
• Experience working in an Agile, fast‑paced development environment
• Experience identifying and understanding organizational and user requirements and specifications and translating those into quality code
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with other team members and customers (technical and non‑technical)
• Must be able to think creatively and analyze/solve difficult problems with logic and tenacity
• A demonstrated ability to work independently on complex tasks with little direction, supervision, or management oversight
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of database management systems, including MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Expertise in microservices architecture
• Advanced skills in Python programming
• Solid experience with PHP development

The salary range for this role is $120K- $140K/YR, based on experience.
