Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a 100% employee-owned federal contractor, seeks a Senior Web Applications Developer to support Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, DC. You will lead modernization, enhancement, and secure web applications that enable data-driven decisions and operational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, RESTful API integration, and refactoring legacy systems to improve scalability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent years of relevant experience).
• Active TS clearance w/ SCI eligibility required.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, React.js, Node.js, and modern web technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Modernize and maintain web apps for scalability and performance.
• Write modular code in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Refactor legacy code to reduce debt and improve readability.
• Build dashboards, workflows, and visualizations for data-driven apps.
• Optimize SQL queries and ensure database performance and security.
• Define and deliver scalable solutions with stakeholders.
• Work in Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban) environments.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Provide actionable reports and analytics for informed decisions.
