Qualifications

- Knowledge of analysis, design, and workflow processing.

Under direction of the Associate Director of Dev Ops for Risk & Safety Solutions (RSS), serve as a technical leader for RSS development efforts, providing mentoring, guidance, architecture, and design direction that shapes the high-level development of applications used across all 10 UC campuses and 6 medical centers to ensure the safety and compliance of staff, students, and patients. Applies advanced software concepts and agentic programming techniques to projects of broad scope and complexity, exercising a high degree of autonomy in selecting the tools, methods, and technical approaches used to resolve complex, often unprecedented problems. Brings recognized expertise in specific technical areas to bear on in-depth evaluation of variable factors affecting system design and performance.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology or related eld.
- Experience programming JavaScript web applications using responsive single page application frameworks (such as Angular, ReactJS, Ember).
- Experience programming Java web applications using a combination of related technologies including HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring Framework.
- Experience with JavaScript and Java testing frameworks (such as Mocha, Jasmin, Karma, JUnit); Experience designing and implementing complex database application systems and user-centered Web interfaces including the integration of advanced web applications.
- Experience reviewing and producing technical policies, recommendations and analysis; Experience developing architectural solutions based on multi-tier architecture and web development tools.
- At least three years of professional software development experience, including maintaining and troubleshooting applications in a production environment using a combination of full-stack and AI technologies.
- Knowledge of programming techniques including analysis, flow charting, design, work measurement, data collection, and workflow processing.
- Experience interpreting business functions and objectives to technical solutions. Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL RDBMS experience, including SQL, stored procedures, and ORM experience.
- Experience training and/or mentoring technical staff.
- Systems analysis and data processing skills to translate manual operations to automated processes. Ability to use machine learning frameworks or AI-assisted development tools in software projects.
