Job summary

Nexstar Media in Terre Haute, IN seeks an experienced Meteorologist to forecast, produce, and anchor weather reports across platforms. You will write concise weather stories, respond to severe weather, and work with the team to deliver comprehensive coverage for our audience.

The role requires an atmospheric science degree or equivalent experience, strong on-air presence, and the ability to mentor others. You will engage with viewers on social media and support promotional activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication.
• Minimum five years' experience in weather reporting or anchoring (varying by market).
• Superior on-air presence and ability to mentor others.
• Proficiency with office technology and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
• Writes and delivers weather stories clearly and concisely.
• Assists in writing, editing, researching and coordinating weather programming.
• Responds to breaking and severe weather events as required.
• Works with the weather team to develop comprehensive coverage.
• Interacts with viewers on social media and participates in promotions.
• Performs special projects as assigned and covers daily local forecasts.
