Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Meteorologist to forecast weather conditions, produce and anchor weather reports for all platforms. You will write, copy edit, and deliver weather content that meets company standards while engaging viewers across social media.

You’ll respond to severe weather events, coordinate with the weather team, and contribute to promotional activities. A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or related field (or equivalent).
• Fluency in English with excellent oral/written communication.
• Minimum five years of weather reporting/anchoring experience.
• Superior on-air presence and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
• Writes and delivers weather stories clearly and concisely.
• Responds to breaking/severe weather events and urgent newsroom situations.
• Works with weather team to develop comprehensive coverage.
• Interacts with viewers on social media and participates in promotions.
• Writes web weather stories daily.
