Sesame seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to own wearable hardware architecture, from concept through prototyping and final integration.

You'll collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, ID, and soft goods teams to solve complex integration challenges, select materials, and manage partner fabrication. The role demands strong prototyping skills, an eye for aesthetics, and the ability to drive projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience.
• 4+ years of wearable product design experience.
• Experience with complex electromechanical integration (sensors, cameras, batteries, antennas, audio) in very small form factors.
• Proficient with materials properties (plastics, metals, adhesives, glass).
• Experience shipping products in lead/principal engineer roles.
• Expert with Siemens NX CAD software and mechanical simulation tools.
• Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding).
• BS or MS in ME or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, simulate, prototype, and ship mechanical systems in wearable form factors.
• Generate models, drawings, simulations, and specifications for internal and external partners.
• Act as mechanical SME to support collaboration with Electrical, Firmware, ID, and soft goods teams.
• Identify and direct materials and fabrication partners.
• Travel as needed for product or prototype development.
