Jobot, a national defense litigation firm, seeks an experienced workers' compensation defense attorney to join the New Jersey team. The role emphasizes hybrid flexibility, with responsibilities including managing a full caseload, conducting depositions, and representing employers before the WCAB.

The ideal candidate holds a Juris Doctorate, active State Bar membership, and 8+ years of workers' compensation defense experience, with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Active State Bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum of 8+ years of workers' compensation defense experience.
• Proven track record in depositions and trials.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks.
• Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
• Prepare legal documents and reports with a high level of accuracy.
• Conduct depositions of claimants, medical personnel, and other relevant parties.
• Represent employers and carriers before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
• Conduct and direct legal research to stay updated on current workers' compensation laws and regulations.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in conjunction with claims adjusters.
