Job summary

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks a Waterfront Project Engineer (Civil Engineer III) to plan, design, permit and supervise marine and waterfront projects. You will manage staff, review submittals, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety rules.

You will prepare technical documents, cost estimates and bid materials, while coordinating with municipalities and state agencies. A PE would be preferred; EIT eligibility is acceptable with progression plans.

Qualifications

• Four years of civil engineering experience with design, survey, or construction.
• Licensure or eligibility for PE preferred; EIT acceptable with plan to obtain PE.
• Experience with field inspections, reports and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and construction of waterfront projects and supervise staff.
• Prepare plans, specs, cost estimates and permit applications.
• Review submissions, manage contracts, and monitor field activities.
• Coordinate with partners, prepare reports and ensure compliance with laws.
• Provide technical guidance and supervise outside consultants.
