Job summary

Thomas & Hutton in the Atlanta area is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Engineer (PE) to lead complex municipal and private sector projects across the Southeast, guiding multidisciplinary teams and strengthening client relationships.

Requirements include a PE license and 15+ years’ experience in water and wastewater design and project management, with knowledge of Civil 3D, WaterCAD/SewerCAD, InfoWorks or InfoWater, and project-tracking tools.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of design and management experience in municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with InfoWorks WS and/or InfoWater (Innovyze) preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple large projects and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex water and wastewater projects for municipal and private sector clients.
• Oversee the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Direct hydraulic modeling and system analysis using tools such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWorks WS, or InfoWater.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, including municipalities and water/sewer authorities.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget across multiple projects to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance development for engineering staff.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, consultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize project tracking tools to monitor financial performance, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Support business development efforts and maintain and expand client relationships.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
