Job summary

H2M architects + engineers is expanding its Water and Wastewater Engineering team and seeks a Senior Project Water/Wastewater Engineer with 8–15 years’ experience and a strong project and client management background. You will lead water/wastewater design for public and private clients, coordinating in-house and external teams across architectural, structural, MEP, and civil disciplines.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of progressive experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY/NJ or ability to gain reciprocity.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and navigating NYSDOH/NJDEP permitting processes.
• Proficiency with engineering software and tools required for design, analysis, and project delivery.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to mentor and train junior engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage medium to large infrastructure projects from inception through planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, and delivery to meet performance goals.
• Serve as Project Manager with technical production and team coordination responsibilities.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and design tasks to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
• Lead construction administration and oversee construction observation activities.
• Coordinate with internal divisions, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
