Job summary

H2M architects + engineers in Melville, NY, seeks a Senior Project Water and Wastewater Engineer to lead design efforts, mentor staff engineers, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams across public and private clients.

The role spans planning through construction, with travel and a salary range of $115k–$165k depending on level, and a portfolio of water supply, treatment, and wastewater systems. The firm emphasizes reliability, compliance, and client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering required.
10+ years' progressive experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction of municipal water/wastewater infrastructure.
Senior Project Engineer 1: 10–12 years in water/wastewater focus.
Senior Project Engineer 2: 12–15 years in water/wastewater focus.
P.E. license in applicable states or ability to obtain reciprocity.
Experience delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and navigating NYSDOH/NJDEP permitting.

Responsibilities

Lead medium to large infrastructure projects from inception through planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction.
Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and timely delivery.
Serve as Project Manager with responsibility for technical production, team coordination, and project execution.
Prepare and manage cost estimates, schedules, and design tasks for on-time delivery.
Lead construction administration and supervise construction observation.
