Job summary

STV, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager to contribute to the Water Practice Group.

You will design and manage W/WW transmission, distribution and collection projects in Texas, lead design staff, and work with clients to deliver value and quality. The role requires PE in Texas, 5–12 years of related pipeline experience, and strong leadership with budgets, schedules and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
• 5 to 12 years of progressive experience on small diameter (<24") and/or large diameter (24" up to 108") water and sewer pipelines.
• Experience with pipeline hydraulics; mentoring and managing younger staff and managing budgets, schedules, client meetings, and leading design tasks.
• PMP certification would be a plus.
• Demonstrable experience in the design and construction of W/WW infrastructure: planning, design and construction of water and wastewater conveyance design.
• Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
• Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects.
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership, oral and written communication, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem solving.
• Experience with presenting and leading/participating in project meetings.
• Experience directing, coordinating, and supervising a staff: multiple CM, Office Design Engineers, Contracts/Procurement Manager and Field Inspectors.
• Knowledge of scheduling, spreadsheet, document, and database software.
• Knowledge of QA/QC Plan review and implementation.
• Experience with Document Control Plan and Project Procedures Manual.

Responsibilities

• Delivering large and/or multiple projects on time and within budget per contract documents.
• Provide effective project management to reduce costs and add value.
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and data to plan and design projects.
• Assist in backlog execution and new work pursuits.
• Lead projects and coordinate internal design staff and field positions.
• Oversee project designs and construction.
• Interface with clients to ensure expectations are met.
• Maintain project safety as part of contract responsibility.
• Contribute to corporate initiatives and company goals.
• Assess requirements and recommend sound approaches for projects.
• Ensure deliverables meet requirements and schedule.
• Monitor costs, budgets, schedules, and staffing.
• Enhance project quality with team-driven improvements.
• Establish metrics to measure key project criteria.
• Facilitate communication plans and status reviews with stakeholders.
• Supervise others as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as required.
