Job summary

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium seeks a skilled professional to support operation and maintenance of Native community water and wastewater facilities. You will respond to emergencies, review designs, and ensure compliance with state guidelines while mentoring staff.

The role requires an associates degree in a technical field and extensive field experience in water systems. On-site work in Alaska with travel to remote locations is involved.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a technical field.
  • Nine years of water and wastewater treatment plant operations and/or maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental health statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, codes, and other guidelines.
  • Ability to read and evaluate blueprints and technical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes operation and maintenance of water treatment and wastewater disposal facilities.
  • Responds to sanitation facility emergencies and requests for technical assistance.
  • Identifies, researches, and recommends solutions to sanitation and water facility problems.
  • Prepares summary reports and inspects equipment; reviews plans and specifications.
  • Reviews designs for onsite operability and maintains operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Directs staff, trains and coaches, and provides leadership to project personnel.
