Job summary

Baxter & Woodman seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Operations Project Manager for our Municipal Services Department, with offices in Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville, or Mokena, IL. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and client coordination.

Day-to-day duties include managing capital improvement programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising operators and lab staff, reviewing development plans, and coordinating with village officials and other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in an environmental field.
• 10+ years of water/wastewater operations experience.
• IEPA water license required; wastewater license preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with local government staff and officials.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital improvement programs and coordinate with clients and contractors.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and submit required reports to IEPA.
• Supervise operators and laboratory staff across facilities.
• Review development plans for local requirements including stormwater and sanitation.
• Prepare written review reports and communicate with village staff and officials.
• Provide on-site staffing support and assist with permit preparation.
