Job summary

B in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering with operations from bid through handoff.

Ideal candidates will understand water/wastewater construction, self-performed work, and be able to evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost beyond basic takeoffs.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete / heavy civil.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Familiarity with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, OST.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor/supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.
