Qualifications

• BSCE from an accredited program.
• 5–10 years of consulting engineering experience in water and/or wastewater.

Job description

Wright Water Engineers, Inc. (WWE) seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to support the planning, evaluation, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role combines hands-on technical engineering, project coordination, client service, and collaboration with staff. The selected candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams on innovative projects related to water and wastewater facilities, water treatment and distribution infrastructure, and wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure.

The successful candidate will use problem-solving skills, critical thinking, a passion for learning, and a strong work ethic to thrive independently and within project teams. Effective written and verbal communication skills and professional integrity are essential for contributing to WWE's company culture and building trusting relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.

Representative Responsibilities

• Lead and support studies, evaluations, planning, and design for water treatment and distribution systems and wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure.
• Develop and review design drawings, plans and profiles, specifications, bid documents, design memoranda, technical reports, cost estimates, and related deliverables.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering tools to prepare studies and design documents.
• Research and evaluate engineering and water-quality topics within project-specific technical, regulatory, budget, and schedule constraints.
• Support construction-phase services through site visits, field observation, submittal and design review, and resolution of technical issues.
• Maintain a master status of active design projects, including tasks, deadlines, staffing, and budget status.
• Coordinate upcoming tasks and deadlines with project engineers and communicate project status to the Chief Design Engineer.
• Attend weekly design-coordination meetings and contribute to workload and resource planning.
• Participate in client meetings and provide clear, professional communication by phone, email, letter, memorandum, and presentation.
• Develop proposals and support business-development and marketing activities.
• Coordinate with administrative staff to help complete required project-administration tasks on time.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced staff and review work for quality, completeness, and consistency with project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Five to ten years of consulting engineering experience, including water and/or wastewater planning, design, and construction support.
• Professional Engineer license in Colorado or the ability to obtain Colorado licensure through comity within a reasonable period after hire.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, design standards, and construction practices.
• Ability to develop construction plans and profiles, specifications, bid documents, technical reports, and project cost estimates.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to evaluate engineering problems, exercise sound judgment, and perform work with limited supervision.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time while maintaining project intent and quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a full-time position in WWE's Denver office, with occasional work outside standard hours. The position includes periodic travel to client meetings and project sites.

• Full-time position in Denver office with a salary range of $95,000-$130,000 (commensurate with experience, education, and skills) plus a discretionary quarterly bonus program.
