Job summary

The City of Folsom is recruiting for a Water Utilities Worker III – (A) in the Utilities Department - Water Meters Division. Ideal candidates will test and calibrate water meters, support maintenance of the water distribution system, and coordinate map corrections with GIS staff.

This non-exempt, union-represented role offers schedule options (Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:00pm or 9/80 6:30am-4:00pm) and the opportunity to work with heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of full-time experience in the maintenance, construction and/or repair of water distribution facilities.
• Possession of a valid Water Distribution Operator Grade 3 (D3) certificate issued by SWRCB.
• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a California Class C driver license; Class B tanker endorsement by time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system and non-potable water system.
• Locate and dig water leaks, repair, or replace defective piping and meters.
• Operate tools and heavy equipment for water services and meters; calibrate and test meters.
• Assist in overseeing the 811 tickets, leak detection programs, and map corrections with GIS staff.
