Job summary

Story Construction, a local Ames contractor, seeks a Superintendent to oversee Water Treatment and Waste Water Treatment Plant projects in Central Iowa. You will manage on-site activities from start to finish, mentor field staff, and ensure safety, schedule adherence, and quality across projects.

Responsibilities include site leadership, material planning, cost tracking, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading Water Treatment and/or Waste Water Treatment Plant projects as a Superintendent.
• Experience leading self-perform crews.
• Experience leading projects valued at $10M+.

Responsibilities

• Lead foremen and crews through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.
• Oversee day-to-day on-site management and logistics to meet schedule and safety targets.
• Plan and deploy project schedules, monitor progress, and manage costs.
• Order materials and equipment, track inventory, and optimize site resources.
• Create a positive, learning-focused on-site environment.
