Job summary

Story Construction in Ames, IA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for industrial, water treatment, and wastewater treatment construction projects. You will support planning, cost management, and scheduling, coordinating with owners, designers, and contractors.

The role requires a technical degree with construction experience, willingness to travel to job sites across central Iowa, and the ability to manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders while leading monthly owner meetings.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in construction/engineering or related field.
• Experience as Project Engineer or Assistant PM on industrial/WT/WWTP projects preferred.
• Physical examination and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of industrial, water treatment, and wastewater treatment projects.
• Provide input on cost management during design and construction.
• Lead development of construction schedules and bid packages.
• Ensure coordination among owner, designer, and contractors during monthly progress meetings.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and payment applications.
