Job summary

The City of Frederick is seeking skilled water treatment operators to manage day‑to‑day operation of a Water Treatment Plant, ensuring compliance with EPA, MDE and SDWA requirements. The plant runs 24/7 with shifts including nights, weekends and holidays; responders may be required for emergencies.

Opportunities include Operator I–IV with hourly pay between $24.11 and $29.95. Licenses, proper driving record, and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular inspections of the facility and monitors SCADA/plant performance.
• Maintains logs of operations and meter/lab readings.
• Collects water samples and conducts routine lab tests.
• Performs plant operating procedures and basic maintenance tasks.
• Attends classes to maintain water license and performs related duties.
