Job summary

AMT is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager in Richmond, VA with 7+ years of experience to lead water resources tasks for transportation projects for VDOT, MDSHA, NCDOT, SCDOT and other regional localities.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources.
• 7+ years of water resources related experience.
• Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience with common software.
• Virginia or Maryland PE license required; NC/SC preferred.
• CADD experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations, reports and plans for transportation projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reporting.

Job description

AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Senior Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager, with 7+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing team of design professionals in our Richmond, VA office. The right candidate would lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for VDOT, MDSHA, NCDOT, SCDOT and Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina localities.

Responsibilities

• Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and erosion and sediment control
• Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and reporting
• Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction
• Meet and work directly with clients and public agency officials
• Work in collaboration with a Transportation design team comprised of other disciplines and support staff on multi-disciplinary projects
• Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client-based procedures

Required Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources
• Minimum of 7 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production
• Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge) with commonly used software
• Virginia or Maryland Professional Engineer license required. North Carolina-licensed Professional Engineer Preferred South Carolina PE Preferred
• CADD experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads required
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal
