Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig seeks a Senior Engineer to join the Water Resources team in Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska. The role leads drainage and floodplain design for transportation projects, mentors staff, and drives marketing and client engagement.

The candidate will manage project scope, budget, and schedules while coordinating with multiple disciplines. Required 10+ years in drainage/water resources, PE license with Nebraska eligibility, and strong experience in AutoCAD/Civil3D/MicroStation and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources
• Minimum 10 years of experience in drainage design and water resources work
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D and 2D, SRH-2D, CulvertMaster, HY‑8, FlowMaster, StormCAD, EPA SWMM, or similar tools
• Experience working with transportation projects and with NDOT or other DOTs is highly desired
• Stream restoration and stabilization experience is a plus
• Project management experience required
• Marketing and business development experience required

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design and water resources for transportation projects
• Mentor and manage a small group of engineers and designers
• Support career growth and staff development
• Lead marketing and business development for water resources projects
• Oversee roadway drainage design and hydrology/hydraulics analyses
• Perform floodplain analysis and associated permitting support
• Coordinate with other discipline task leads and clients
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs during construction
