Job summary

Lower Platte South NRD in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking a full-time District Engineer to execute professional engineering tasks across NRD programs and projects. You will oversee studies, manage projects, coordinate with consultants, and evaluate proposals, contracts, and designs.

The ideal candidate will be a Nebraska-licensed PE (or eligible within six months) with a water resources focus, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Nebraska or able to obtain within six months.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural or Civil Engineering (water resources focus preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise for district studies and projects including flood control and drainage structures.
• Coordinate with consultants; review proposals, designs, plans, reports, contracts, and cost estimates.
• Oversee project management; conduct site inspections and prepare recommendations and reports.
• Review external plans, programs, studies, and projects affecting the District.
