Job summary

Davis & Floyd in Greenville or Florence, SC is seeking a Water Resources Designer III to join our civil engineering team. You will support design development of complex projects and serve as an advanced CAD resource, developing drawings and construction documents under engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Technical Design with CAD coursework or equivalent
• 6+ years of civil design/drafting experience
• AutoCAD Certified preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Ability to understand, interpret, and implement highly complex instructions
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and drafting standards
• Ability to review and coordinate the work of others for quality and consistency
• Ability to interact professionally with clients, consultants, and staff
• Must be a self-starter with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to independently manage multiple project assignments and meet deadlines
• Experience preparing construction plans for civil engineering projects

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for advanced design and drafting activities
• Lead drafting operations for development of project plans and documents
• Develop and review engineering drawings for accuracy and standards
• Perform fieldwork, documentation, and drafting tasks as requested
• Review sketches and data and provide drafting recommendations
• Convert survey data into topographic drawings and 3D models
• Create detailed construction drawings for roads, drainage, water/sewer facilities
• Prepare 2D/3D layout data for staking or GPS construction equipment
• Maintain proficiency in CAD software and emerging technologies
• Coordinate CAD activities across projects and mentor junior staff
• Prepare maps and exhibits for presentations, reports, and submittals
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to meet CAD standards
• Perform QA reviews of drawings and design files
• Assist in training CAD Technicians and providing guidance
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CAD procedures and tools
• Draft and coordinate designs with minimal supervision
• Perform other duties as assigned
