Pennsylvania American Water is seeking a Full-Time Senior Water Quality & Environmental Compliance Specialist. If you have experience with environmental management and water quality, especially related to the Lead Program, APPLY TODAY for immediate consideration!

Primary Role

Organize and manage activities related to environmental management and water quality, focusing on the Lead Program. Implement water sampling requirements across schools and day cares, ensure compliance with regulations, communicate sample results, and investigate water quality complaints.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with federal and state water quality regulations and the Lead Program standards.
• Conduct advanced sampling, analysis, and special projects.
• Maintain all regulatory reports and records.
• Participate in audits and represent American Water with regulators and customers.
• Identify issues, initiate responses, and mitigate violations.
• Lead projects and prepare related reports.
• Address escalated water quality concerns.
• Plan and oversee school and day care sampling activities.

Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of environmental standards, regulations, and legislation.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Experience/Education

• Minimum five years’ experience in water, wastewater, and laboratory operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering or related field preferred; consideration given to candidates with equivalent experience.

Certifications/Licenses

• Active State Driver’s License with ability to pass motor vehicle report.

Other

• Ability to travel regionally; occasional overnight travel may be required.
