City of East Point seeks a Water Plant Operator III to manage operation and maintenance of water treatment/pretreatment equipment on a shift. The role ensures compliance with discharge permits, performs preventative maintenance, and supports lab analyses and reporting.

The position requires a high school diploma, the ability to obtain Class III Water certification, and 2+ years of relevant experience. Training and safety are emphasized in daily duties.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; must obtain Class III Water certification.
• Two years experience or training in wastewater treatment or water chemistry preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment exam and complete Volumes I and II within one year of employment.
• Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on treatment equipment.

Mansioni

• Operate and maintain pumps, blowers, motors, bar screens, chemical feed systems, lab equipment.
• Adjust chemical dosages and manage sludge to meet permit limits.
• Detect improper operation and report need for repair.
• Collect samples and analyze lab data; record test results.
• Take daily meter readings for monthly reports.
• Replace chlorine cylinders and regulate the flow of chlorine.
• Log data into computerized systems and state reports.
