Job summary

Burlington Electric Department is seeking a Water Meter Field Technician II to execute advanced meter management functions ensuring accurate billing. Responsibilities include reading, installing, maintaining meters, assessing service lines, and providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in water meter reading, installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency with AMI meter technology.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools related to metering and water distribution.

Responsibilities

• Obtain readings for all water meters according to predetermined schedule.
• Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on all sizes and complexities of water meters.
• Complete common utility locating functions, ensuring accurate mapping.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Vermont State Operator Classification, Class D

Commercial Driver’s License Class B
