Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 9–15 years of experience with municipal clients across planning, consulting, design and construction services.
• PE license required.
• Experience with stormwater design is beneficial but not required.
• Proven success in project management and client interaction.
• Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for prospective projects.

A growing engineering firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its water and wastewater team. This individual will be responsible for managing water and wastewater projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and in line with agreed scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

The role also offers the opportunity to work closely with the Department Director on business development initiatives, client relationship management, and broader departmental activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, technical understanding, and the ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work alongside marketing and technical teams to develop proposal content, technical approaches, scopes of work, and related materials
• Manage and maintain relationships with assigned key clients, acting as a trusted point of contact
• Travel to client meetings, project sites, field assignments, and site inspections as required
• Identify opportunities for additional services and new business with existing key clients
• Contribute to business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities, attending networking events, and presenting at industry and professional events
• Support the Department Director with departmental initiatives, strategic objectives, and business activities
• Coordinate effectively with internal and external disciplines to ensure projects are delivered successfully
• Oversee project design and delivery to the appropriate level of detail while identifying and minimizing potential risk to the firm
• Serve as a client service manager, helping to strengthen existing relationships while developing new client connections

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
• 9-15 years of experience working with municipal clients across planning, consulting, design, and construction services, including water and wastewater planning and design
• Experience with stormwater design is beneficial but not required
• Demonstrated success in project management, client interaction, and staff development
• Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for prospective projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
