Job summary

Carollo Engineers is seeking an experienced Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our water-focused design team in the United States. You will contribute to planning, design, construction, and commissioning of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, with emphasis on pipelines, pump stations, and trenchless solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, PE registration, and 8–15 years of directly relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 8 to 15 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and project teams.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
• Master's degree ideal; active in professional associations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction and/or commissioning of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
• Specialize in challenging projects outside of the treatment plant, including: planning and design of water/wastewater pipelines, pump stations, trenchless pipelines, wastewater lift stations and related facilities.
• Work on engineering planning and design projects and perform conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation.
• Develop civil engineering plans and specifications; prepare cost estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
• Assist project manager with planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing the work of the project team.
• Assist project manager with meeting budget, schedule, and quality goals.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs during construction.
• Travel may be required; most projects are local.
