Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced General Superintendent with a water background to lead field operations in the Palm Beach Gardens, FL region. You will drive safe, efficient project execution, manage a skilled workforce, and support self-perform operations across active sites and offices.

Key responsibilities include coordinating schedules, mentoring field personnel, and ensuring quality and compliance. Travel up to 25% within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of construction experience, including 10 years as a Superintendent.
• Proven success managing large, complex, multimillion-dollar projects.
• OSHA 10-hour, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferred.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee field operations across multiple projects.
• Participate in pre-job planning, constructability reviews, and project pursuits.
• Support development and maintenance of project schedules and production plans.
• Monitor quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• Mentor, develop, and evaluate field management and craft personnel.
• Coordinate manpower, resources, and equipment with project and regional leadership.
• Participate in client, subcontractor, and internal coordination meetings.
• Support equipment utilization, maintenance, and company safety initiatives.
• Assist with project start-ups, audits, reporting, and closeout activities.
