Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Wastewater Treatment Project Manager in Central Texas to lead complex water infrastructure projects from development through close-out. You will manage multi-discipline teams, cultivate client relations, and ensure deliverables meet schedule, budget, and QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

  • PMP certification, project leadership and communication skills are preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and communication skills and a desire to grow the water/wastewater practice.
  • Experience with managing large, complex water/wastewater projects is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (development to close-out)
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through project life cycle and ensure deliverables meet schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate work to meet budget and schedule
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staffs and mentor less-experienced Project Managers
  • Perform other duties as needed

HDR Engineering is looking for a Senior Wastewater Treatment Project Manager to join our growing group in Central Texas . The primary duties of the Senior Wastewater Treatment Project Manager include but are not limited to planning, directing and monitoring technical aspects of larger and mid-sized wastewater treatment projects which contain a high degree of technical complexity. In addition, the position will be required to serve the role as client manager and assist in growing our practice.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Wastewater Treatment Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification
  • Minimum 12 years design experience working on large, complex water and wastewater projects
  • Strong client and project management skills are required
  • Demonstrates leadership and communication skills. A desire to grow our water/wastewater treatment practice
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring and project management background
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
