Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Wastewater Project Manager in California to lead, manage, and deliver复杂 wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction. You will coordinate with clients and internal specialists, develop design criteria, and oversee multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.

Occasional travel to site visits and support for business development are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering
• 12+ years of experience in wastewater-related infrastructure, including project management (planning, design, and construction)
• Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Self-starter with attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills; must present complex issues to nontechnical people

Responsibilities

• Developing technical treatment strategies, selecting treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects.
• Direct coordination and collaboration with clients.
• Coordination with internal technical specialists and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
• Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objective.
• Planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater-related projects.
• Manage interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs.
• Prepare assessment and design reports, perform design calculations, size/select equipment, prepare construction documents, and support construction management/commissioning.
• Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction with travel as needed.
• Lead business development activities including proposals and presentations.
• The position will advance client development and management with support from local and firm-wide resources.
• Pursue site visits for pre-positioning projects, participate in proposals and interviews, define scope/schedule/budget, and lead wastewater project pursuits.
