Job summary

I-2-I Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Pre-Treatment Operations Subject Matter Expert to provide technical and operational support at USDA NBAF in Manhattan, Kansas. This senior-level, part-time consulting role involves remote consultations and periodic on-site visits.

Workload is ~150 hours per year with at least one annual on-site session (two eight-hour days). The consultant will review treatment performance, advise on process improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance with KDHE

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment or wastewater pre-treatment system operations.
• Experience providing operational support for wastewater facilities, preferably in labs, healthcare, or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of treatment processes, chemical dosing, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Review treatment-process performance and recommend improvements to dosing, operation, controls and procedures.
• Interpret meter readings, data, and lab results to determine adjustments.
• Help maintain regulatory permit compliance and environmental requirements.
• Advise on regulatory changes and industry practices for wastewater treatment.
• Prepare reports and permit documentation for regulatory agencies.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and propose corrective actions.
• Evaluate new wastewater treatment equipment and technologies for effectiveness.
• Provide limited technical assistance during design, installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Prepare written reports with findings and recommendations after on-site sessions.
• Participate in meetings with facility personnel and stakeholders.
• Prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
• Track and report hours under the annual support allocation.
