Job summary

Collier County is seeking a Plant Operator III to perform advanced licensed operation, monitoring, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment processes. You will lead Plant Operator Trainees and junior staff, ensuring safe, compliant operations and accurate record‑keeping.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing process control, and coordinating with maintenance and laboratory staff to sustain high performance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of related experience in water/wastewater plant operations.
• Fingerprinting/background screening are required.
• Florida Driver's License and applicable licenses may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced licensed operation, monitoring, process control, optimization, and troubleshooting of plant systems.
• Provides advanced technical direction and mentoring to Plant Operator Trainees and Operators.
• Maintains accurate records and ensures regulatory compliance and safety.
