Job summary

Collier County, FL is seeking a skilled tradesperson to program and maintain electrical controls, instrumentation, and equipment at wastewater treatment plants and related facilities. The role involves installing, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation, operating telemetry, and reviewing projects.

A Florida driver’s license and a Class C Wastewater license (or enrollment within 18 months) are required. New hires are hired near the entry point based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of related experience.
• Fingerprinting required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle.
• Must obtain and maintain a Class C Wastewater license or obtain within eighteen (18) months of employment.
• GEDs must be issued by the American Council on Education through an approved GED Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized electrical work associated with installation, programming, and repair of equipment/machinery at wastewater treatment plants, wastewater collection facilities, off-site operations, and related facilities.
• Installs, programs, calibrates, and/or repairs instrumentation and electronic equipment at utility plants and related facilities, including drives, meters, transducers, PLCs, control panels, and data systems.
• Operates central telemetry computer to program, monitor, and control lift stations; troubleshoots telemetry computer problems; designs and builds electrical controls; generates trend data and reports.
