Job summary

NCRWA seeks a skilled wastewater maintenance technician to support the county’s utilities, including the Triangle Wastewater Treatment Plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair critical equipment on a rotating on-call schedule to ensure reliable service.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, coordinating with the supervisor, and performing electrical/mechanical tasks as needed. A Grade II Collection Certification and NC driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five years experience in municipal wastewater or industrial maintenance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NC Driver’s license with an acceptable three-year driving history; Grade II Collection Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist supervisor in maintaining computerized maintenance system and prioritizing/scheduling work.
  • Maintain work orders, equipment logs and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate pumps, valves, motors, sensors, and telemetry equipment; service UV disinfection equipment and flow meters.
