Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Madison, WI, seeks a Wastewater Professional Engineer to lead design efforts across municipal and industrial wastewater projects.

You will coordinate design teams, engage with agencies for code compliance, and ensure on-schedule delivery while integrating multi-disciplinary inputs. The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of relevant experience, and strong skills in water distribution design, CAD tools, and hydraulic modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years experience with Municipal Water and Wastewater Systems Planning and Design.
• Requires Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Strong technical background and experience in designing water distribution systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of the wastewater design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review process mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
• Write and edit process mechanical specifications, select equipment, treatment systems, and devices.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Wastewater Process Mechanical Project Engineers, Project Coordinators or CAD Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
