Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer to strengthen the regional water team across NY, NJ, PA, and MA. You will lead municipal wastewater projects, from planning through construction, coordinating with leadership and multi-disciplinary staff to deliver facilities and upgrades.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, manage scopes and budgets, and help develop client relationships while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical or related engineering.
• Typically 10-15 years of progressively responsible wastewater engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license in at least one US jurisdiction, with ability to obtain licensure in NY, NJ, PA and MA.
• Strong municipal wastewater treatment process design experience.
• Ability to travel to clients and project sites throughout the region.
• Experience leading technical teams and communicating with clients and treatment plant operators.

Responsibilities

• Lead wastewater treatment planning, process evaluations and facility designs.
• Develop design criteria, calculations, hydraulic profiles, mass balances, equipment sizing.
• Design and evaluate headworks, primary and biological treatment and nutrient removal.
• Manage projects, schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Provide construction-phase support and field coordination.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development.
• Build client relationships and support proposals.
