Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer to strengthen our regional water team across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. This role focuses on municipal wastewater treatment and related collection projects, with you serving as a senior technical contributor and project delivery lead.

You will plan, design and deliver facilities from initial studies through construction, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with regional wastewater leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical or related engineering.
• Typically, 10-15 years of progressively responsible wastewater engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license in at least one US jurisdiction, with the ability to obtain licensure in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
• Ability to travel to clients and project sites throughout the region.
• Preferred experience: activated sludge and biological nutrient removal, plant hydraulics, wet-weather treatment, solids handling, advanced treatment, membranes, start-up and operational troubleshooting.

Responsabilités

• Lead wastewater treatment planning, process evaluations and facility designs.
• Develop design criteria, calculations, hydraulic profiles, mass balances, equipment sizing and facility layouts.
• Design and evaluate headworks, primary and biological treatment, nutrient removal, clarification, disinfection, biosolids management, chemical feed systems and ancillary systems.
• Support sanitary sewer, force main, pump station, inflow and infiltration, and wet-weather management projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and bid documents.
• Manage technical tasks, project scope, schedules, budgets and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Provide construction-phase support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, field coordination, commissioning and operational troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical quality assurance.
• Build client relationships and support proposals, interviews and regional business development.
