Job summary

T&M Associates is seeking a Principal Wastewater Engineer to lead projects in wastewater treatment, hydraulics, and regulatory compliance. The role requires extensive experience and collaboration with clients and technical teams in a hybrid work environment in New Jersey.

The ideal candidate has PE licensure, 8+ years in water/wastewater, and strong communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and manage complex design tasks.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong problem-solving and operational skills.
• Client coordination and collaboration experience are essential.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive wastewater characterizations based on industrial practices and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and evaluate potential improvements in treatment processes and equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Conduct wastewater treatment process calculations and assist in process modeling to size and configure treatment processes.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and develop system head curves for pumping designs.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses to ensure economic feasibility and resource optimization.
• Design layouts and specifications for treatment system improvements with engineers and other design disciplines.
• Evaluate regulatory requirements; prepare and submit permit applications as needed.
• Assist in construction activities including reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor pay applications.
