Role Description The Senior Wastewater Engineer will lead and support the planning, design, and implementation of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and collection projects in New Hampshire, United States. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing technical analyses and design calculations, preparing engineering reports, drawings, and specifications, and reviewing work produced by junior engineers and staff. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, engaging with clients to define project scopes and requirements, and ensuring that solutions meet regulatory standards and sustainability goals. The Senior Wastewater Engineer will also help manage project budgets and schedules, provide quality control reviews, and support proposal development and business development activities. This is a full-time hybrid role, with primary work based in New Hampshire and some flexibility for work from home.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in wastewater engineering, including treatment process design, hydraulics, and collection system planning.
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, modeling software, and standard office applications).
  • Strong project management capabilities, including experience with budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills for reports, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations and permitting requirements related to wastewater infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline; Professional Engineer (PE) license in the various New England states is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or industrial clients on wastewater projects; background in sustainable and resilient design is beneficial.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office collaboration in New Hampshire with remote work responsibilities.
