HDR's Madison office seeks a Wastewater Professional Engineer to lead design and project delivery for municipal and industrial wastewater projects. You will collaborate across disciplines to ensure technically sound solutions and regulatory compliance while advancing HDR’s client-focused mission.
With a strong background in planning, design, and analysis, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to a wide range of projects across Wisconsin and the Midwest.

Our Madison team is growing its client base and expanding its impact across Wisconsin, the Midwest, and beyond. As a Professional Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on a diverse range of municipal and private‑sector projects, supporting clients such as local governments, utilities, food and beverage manufacturers, and industrial facilities. You'll gain hands‑on experience in planning, design, and engineering analysis while contributing to solutions for complex wastewater treatment and water quality challenges. Because our team collaborates across offices nationwide, you'll have opportunities to support projects and clients throughout the country, broadening your technical expertise and professional network. Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering field
10+ years of experience with municipal or industrial wastewater treatment and treatment process design
Experience working on municipal wastewater projects
Experience working on food and beverage, manufacturing, life sciences, semiconductor, data center, or other industrial wastewater projects
Experience working on large multidisciplinary wastewater projects
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
