Role description :

Arcadis is looking for a Senior Wastewater Engineer with a strong background in process mechanical engineering to join our Resilience Water team in Western New York. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in advancing our Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects through all phases, including studies, design, and construction administration. This position can be based in our Buffalo, NY or Rochester, NY office.

This role sits within our global business area of Resilience. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we're feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is becoming more frequent.

Role accountabilities :

As a Senior Wastewater Engineer, you'll leverage your expertise in drinking water, wastewater, and process mechanical engineering to propel projects swiftly from design through to construction. Your role will be dynamic and impactful, including :

  • Crafting innovative designs: Collaborate with a team of talented engineers to develop cutting-edge design documentation for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) projects.
  • Driving project success: Take the lead in shaping project schedules, preparing bid packages, and generating accurate construction cost estimates to ensure timely and budget-friendly outcomes.
  • Engineering excellence: Conduct detailed engineering calculations and analyses to support project precision and efficiency.
  • Seamless coordination: Work closely with building design disciplines and CADD / BIM designers to ensure comprehensive evaluations and integrated designs.
  • Upholding standards: Ensure that all projects meet client and Arcadis standards for quality, safety, and compliance throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Versatile contributions: Embrace a variety of additional responsibilities as needed to support project success and team goals.

Qualifications & Experience :

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of related engineering experience

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Project / Task Management experience with process mechanical equipment and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Municipal water / wastewater design and construction management experience
