Job summary

Givens Talent seeks a Senior Warehouse Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse and distribution activities at our Chesapeake campus. You will focus on safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.

You will oversee inventory control, staffing, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with transportation and procurement to optimize flow and performance. OSHA compliance and a culture of safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience.
• Experience managing high-volume warehouse or distribution operations.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes.
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing teams.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.
• Ensure accurate, efficient movement of inventory while meeting productivity, quality, and customer service expectations.
• Develop warehouse strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
• Monitor staffing levels, workflow, and labor utilization to maximize efficiency.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop warehouse supervisors and operations personnel.
• Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and all operational procedures.
• Lead safety meetings, audits, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
• Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process controls.
• Collaborate with transportation, procurement, customer service, and supply chain teams to improve inventory flow and operational performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods.
• Analyze warehouse KPIs including productivity, inventory accuracy, shipping performance, labor efficiency, and safety metrics.
• Manage warehouse budgets, labor planning, and operational expenses.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and reporting tools to improve visibility and efficiency.
• Support warehouse automation initiatives, technology implementation, and operational optimization.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
• Multi‑site warehouse leadership experience is a plus.
• Experience leading warehouse automation or optimization projects is preferred.
