Position Overview We are partnering with an established, family-owned food distribution company seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations at a key distribution facility. This position will be responsible for leading warehouse operations, managing employees across multiple shifts, improving operational efficiencies, and ensuring accurate and timely distribution of products. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of daily operations, and has a proven ability to establish processes, develop employees, and drive accountability.

Experience in cold storage or temperature-controlled distribution is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and distribution.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse employees across two shifts, ensuring productivity, accountability, and consistent performance.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve workflow, efficiency, and operational consistency.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, product rotation, order fulfillment, and shipment schedules.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of products while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical solutions to improve warehouse performance.
• Manage labor scheduling, staffing needs, overtime, and employee performance.
• Maintain compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipments.
• Collaborate with company leadership and other departments to support operational goals and continued growth.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution operations experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience managing warehouse employees, daily operations, and multiple shifts.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, receiving, shipping, and distribution processes.
• Demonstrated success implementing operational improvements and establishing efficient workflows.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Hands-on management style with a willingness to remain actively involved in daily warehouse operations.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in cold storage, refrigerated, frozen-food, or other temperature-controlled warehouse environments.
• Background in food distribution, grocery, foodservice, or perishable products.
• Knowledge of cold-chain management, food safety, and product rotation practices.
• Experience working within a family-owned or privately held organization.
• Experience improving warehouse processes and developing teams in a growing business.
